Born to electrify, Aoki Racing Team has been part of the UIM E1 World Championship since day one. Launched in 2023 and led by global music icon Steve Aoki, the team exists at the intersection of high-performance racing and entertainment.
Inspired by Steve’s father Rocky — a powerboat racer in the 1980s — Aoki Racing brings legacy to grid, but rewrites the rules with colour, chaos and energy.
In January 2025, the team claimed its first ever E1 race win in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia — and did it again in 2026, kicking off Season 3 exactly the same way: top of the podium.
At the helm of our RaceBird are Dani Clos and Sara Misir — two pilots with a fearless approach, bringing experience from Formula 1 to the GT Cup Championship.
Fast, electric and impossible to ignore — this is racing, with the volume turned up to the max.

STEVE AOKI
Steve Aoki is a Grammy-nominated DJ, producer, entrepreneur and global cultural icon known for pushing boundaries in music, technology and entertainment. In 2023, Aoki expanded his passion for innovation and sustainability into the world of motorsport, co-founding the Aoki Racing Team in the spirit of his father Rocky, who raced powerboats in the 1980s.

DANI CLOS
Dani Clos is a seasoned motorsport driver with a diverse background in single-seater and endurance racing, including Formula 1, GP2 and other forms of endurance racing. The Spaniard joined from Sergio Perez's E1 team for E1 Season 2 - and spearheaded the team to victory at his first ever event in Jeddah, winning all his races.

SARA MISIR
Sara Misir is a Jamaican professional racing driver and powerboat pilot, and the first Caribbean woman to win Formula Woman in 2022, earning a McLaren Customer Racing contract for the British GT Cup Championship. Originally a top-five internationally ranked junior equestrian, she transitioned to motorsports at 17. Beginning in Jamaican go-karting, Misir quickly advanced to international competition, earning multiple podiums and championships

Azam Rangoonwala
Azam co-founded the Aoki Racing Team in 2023 after several decades working in the powerboat industry. He is CEO of Powerboat P1, a globally-recognised, leading international powerboat racing promoter. Through this venture, he has been instrumental in expanding the reach of powerboat racing worldwide, promoting worldwide events, driving UIM World Championship status for elite classes and growing Powerboat P1's commercial performance significantly.

HRH Prince Sultan Bin Fahd Bin Salman is an influential figure in business and motorsport. Passionate about innovation, sustainability and the future of electric motorsport, Sultan is also Chairman of the team's Principal Partner, the Saudi Watersport and Diving Federation.

MATHILDA WIBERG
Mathilda Wiberg is a rising powerboat racing star, with impressive wins in the UIM F2 World Championship and a World Championship title in 3J class. Her diverse racing experience and hands-on RaceBird experience as an E1 Pilot Academy coach saw her appointed as co-Team Principal for the Aoki Racing Team for 2024.

ALBERTO COMPARATO
Alberto Comparato is an Italian powerboat racing standout, known for his debut in F1H2O at 21 and and achieving multiple podium finishes. A former European and World Champion in F4, he joined Team Abu Dhabi in 2024 before returning to his family-run team in 2025. He now works closely with the Aoki Racing Team pilots on race weekends.

ALEKSANDAR RADOVANOVIC
Aleksandar Radovanović is a Serbian powerboat racer who competed in the UIM F1H2O World Championship during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Representing Serbia, he raced for teams such as Castrol WDF Tetlaw and Assicom Team, piloting Seebold and DAC hulls respectively.

SLOBODAN SOBIC
Slobodan Sobic is a seasoned Serbian aquabike racer competing in the UIM-ABP Aquabike World Championship's Runabout GP1 class. In 2024, he clinched the European Endurance GP2 title at the Grand Prix of Vichy. Residing in Zurich, Switzerland, Sobic balances his racing career with his profession as a car mechanic.

HANI ISMAYANTI
Hani has been active in the marine motorsports industry in Malaysia since 2001. Her immense contribution to the organisation includes receiving the Best Organiser Award for successfully organising the Malaysian Grand Prix of the UIM F1 Powerboat World Championship and co-led the UIM Formula Future National team to four world champion titles. In 2015, Hani joined the P1 Global team and successfully launched the P1 AquaX Malaysian series a year later. She currently supports international operations and is hands-on in administration, managing logistics, operations and events management.

Ragesh Elayadeth is a seasoned motorsport strategist and the team manager of Victory Team, a prominent force in the UIM XCAT World Series. With a wealth of experience in offshore racing, Elayadeth has been instrumental in steering Victory Team to multiple successes.
PARTNERING WITH SWSDF TO DRIVE SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION
A founding partner of the Aoki Racing Team, the Saudi Water Sports & Diving Federation is a Saudi Arabia national institution responsible for the development and support of water sports and diving activites within the Kingdom. It is also the representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in international and Olympic competitions and events.
SWSDF's mission is enablea thriving and healthy life, by building the regulations necessary to develop water sports and diving, and promoting these sports with the aim to increase Saudi competitiveness ranking and creating opportunities for a sustainable sport economy and a thriving marine environment.
