The finals proved decisive. In Final 1, Dani Clos delivered a strong drive, gradually improving his lap times after an opening 1:13.425 and settling into the low 1:08s. Consecutive laps of 1:08.114 and 1:08.117 secured the crucial inside lane for the final race.
Final 2 brought the most intense battle of the weekend. Sara Misir went side-by-side with Team Rafa’s Cris Lazarraga into Turn One, with minor contact as both fought for early control. Misir held her ground, took the lead, and immediately set about managing the race. Her quickest clean lap, a 1:06.310, matched the front-running pace before she shifted focus to maintaining consistent gaps rather than chasing outright speed.
When the chequered flag fell, Aoki Racing Team emerged as overall winners of the Jeddah round, collecting maximum points and finishing the weekend on 40 points, including valuable qualifying points for P2.
“I’m incredibly excited to join Aoki Racing Team and become part of a true racing legacy,” Misir said. “The Aoki family’s passion for racing aligns perfectly with my own values, and I’m proud to represent the team in the E1 Series while pushing new limits.”
With a new pilot pairing, a calm and calculated performance and victory in the season opener, Aoki Racing Team leaves Jeddah firmly establishing their intent for the 2026 championship.
Aoki Racing Team started the 2026 UIM E1 Series World Championship in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with a new pilot lineup and took victory in the opening round.
This event introduced Sara Misir, a motorsport pioneer from Jamaica, as Aoki Racing Team’s new female driver. She joined from Team Blue Rising, where she finished third in 2025 and teamed up with former Formula 1 test driver Dani Clos.
Across qualifying, group stages and the finals, Clos and Misir consistently delivered clean laps in the 1:08–1:09 window, steering clear of penalties and executing long-lap strategy with discipline, an approach that steadily built their advantage as the weekend unfolded.
