Pleased with the team's outstanding start to the year, its leadership now wants to continue the run and mount a serious title challenge.
“It’s a very close season, a lot of competition,” said HRH Prince Sultan Bin Fahd Bin Salman, Team Co-Founder.
“Team Rafa are scary when they have it all hooked up - they showed us this weekend, they were not just in the flow, but fast. It’s going to be competitive, it’s going to be a great season and I'm super pleased with the improvement we've made from last year. I can't wait for the next race, where hopefully we get back to number one!"
Aoki Racing Team continued their strong start to the UIM E1 World Championship in Qatar with a second consecutive podium finish.
The team followed up their opening round victory in Jeddah last month with second place in Doha, as male pilot Dani Clos once again won all his heats to spearhead the team into the finals.
In the finals, it was Team Rafa who came out on top to take their maiden E1 victory, a result which puts them marginally ahead of Aoki Racing Team in the overall standings.
The Spanish outfit sit just three points ahead with five rounds still to go, with Westbrook Racing in third - a further 31 points behind.

Team Principal, Azam Rangoonwala, was equally buoyant about the early season progress of the team.
"We worked hard over the winter and made some key changes to our operation in a bid to ensure we can compete at the sharp end of the championship this year," he said.
"We've gone through lots of change, with new faces in the team, a new pilot in Dani coming on board. We hope this is the start of something for us."
Aoki Racing Team won't have to wait long to try and capitalise on their opening round victory, with the next race in Doha, Qatar just a month away.
